In a recent interview, Mya stated that she will part ways with Motown sometime this year and possibly go independent, and she also plans to release a series of albums, starting off with a double disc album entitled Liberation/Smoke & Mirrors. Liberation will have a brand new tracklisting consisting mostly uptempo tracks, while Smoke & Mirrors will contain slow jams.
